Peter is a Registered Provisional Psychologist, and an associate member of the Australian Psychology Society (APS). Peter is currently completing a Masters in Clinical Psychology at Charles Sturt University and joined the team at HeadwayHealth as part of the University’s Placement Program.

Peter brings a mature and respectful client-focused approach to his practice and enjoys working with a range of presentations and clients. Through his involvement with HeadwayHealth, Peter has a growing passion for working alongside clients to facilitate and support their adjustment in the face of change, loss and grief in all of its forms, and to share strategies to navigate symptoms of anxiety and depression. Peter is developing evidence-based therapeutic approaches derived from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) and Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) techniques and mindfulness.

Peter’s journey to becoming a clinical psychologist was inspired by his voluntary work in non-profit organisations and support groups in the adoptive community, as well as his role as the primary carer for his children. Peter previously enjoyed a successful career as a Chartered Accountant, working in both large and small practices and his own consultancy. Outside of work Peter enjoys rowing, cycling and skiing, and fitness associated with his background competing at an international level in adventure racing.

Peter completed his Bachelor of Psychological Science with First Class Honours at Deakin University in Victoria, and is completing a Master of Clinical Psychology at Charles Sturt University, NSW.

Peter is a student member of the Australian Psychological Society. Peter is a member of the Psycho-oncology Co-operative Research Group. Peter has obtained working clearance from the Office of the Children’s Guardian Working with Children Check, and the Australian Federal Police National Police Check. Peter consults with Avnee Lagad for professional clinical supervision.
