Kym is a Registered Provisional Psychologist and joins our HeadwayHealth team after completing her Masters of Professional Psychology Training.  Kym brings a warm and authentic approach to her work and has a deep and abiding interest in helping and supporting people navigate challenges in their lives.

Kym enjoys and looks forward to her work and has a particular interest in anxiety and depression, as well as working alongside those navigating the experience of change, grief and loss across the lifespan.  She seeks to understand each persons’ unique concerns, and provide care for patients, families and carers effected by uncertainty and the ‘shifting sands’ that often accompany living with chronic and debilitating illness.

Kym offers individually tailored skills and support derived from research-based therapeutic strategies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness.

Kym’s career has evolved to bring her to her current practice as she has experienced great personal reward in helping facilitate growth and support others to find a stable path and restore a sense of contentment and courage.  Her skills have been developed across her psychology degrees and training, as well as a varied and somewhat eclectic background that has encompassed acute and community-based nursing, corporate business, and market research, with medical specialists, allied health, business professionals and consumers alike.

Kym has witnessed first-hand the value of psychological support and the transformative change that this can bring to people’s lives, and as a clinician who has developed her practice in mature age, is deeply committed to her work.  Kym balances her work by spending time with family, friends, keeping active and bushwalking.

Kym is a member of the Australian Psychological Society and the Psycho-oncology Co-operative Research Group.Kym consults with Meaghan Poulton Psychologist and Avnee Lagad Clinical Psychologist for clinical supervision.
